My scenario:
FreeNAS with:
-one CIFS directory
-one NFS directory
Esxi 5.1 with:
-2 hosts
-windows machines and linux machines
I have added the NFS directory as a new Datastore on both hosts and started to migrate 2 machines. The migration speed is soooo slow: 1MB/s or even much less, with spikes of 40MB/s (very rare spikes).
From a windows machine in my cluster, i tried to copy a file to/from the CIFS directory; the speed is ok - around 60MB/s
From a linux machine in my cluster, i tried to copy a file to/from the NFS directory; very slow transfer - max 1,5MB/s
Since all the machines share he same virtual NIC, it is clearly a problem with the NFS or something like that.
Any help on this problem is highly appreciated.
