Using VMware Player 6 when I originally created the "Windows XP Professional.vmdk" virtual hard disk it defaulted to IDE however in the vmware.log file is has, scsi0:0.fileName = "Windows XP Professional.vmdk" and that is why I recreated it. Without additional information I can only assume the virtual disk was added after the initial creation of the empty Virtual Machine and can only go by what's in the log file! Image may be NSFW.
